Recognizes a protein of 55 kDa, identified as CD4. CD4 is a membrane glycoprotein of T lymphocytes that interacts with major histocompatibility complex class II antigens and is also a receptor for the human immunodeficiency virus. This protein is expressed not only in T lymphocytes, but also in B cells, macrophages, and granulocytes. It is also expressed in specific regions of the brain. The protein functions to initiate or augment the early phase of T-cell activation, and may function as an important mediator of indirect neuronal damage in infectious and immune-mediated diseases of the central nervous system. CD6 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein that contains a 24-amino acid signal sequence, three extracellular scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) domains, a membrane-spanning domain and a 44-amino acid cytoplasmic domain. The CD6 glycoprotein is tyrosine phosphorylated during TCR-mediated T cell activation. CD6 shows significant homology to CD5. CD6 is present on mature thymocytes, peripheral T cells and a subset of B cells. Antibodies to CD6 are used to deplete T cells from bone marrow transplants to prevent graft versus host disease.Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. This MAb recognizes extracellular epitope 2 within the N-terminal Ig domain of human CD147. It is expressed more intensely on thymocytes than on mature peripheral blood T cells. CD147 is important in spermatogenesis, embryo implantation, neural network formation, and tumor progression. It stimulates the production of interstitial collagenase, gelatinase A, stromelysin-1 and various metalloproteinases (MMPs) by fibroblasts. This antibody recognizes a protein of 130 kDa, identified as Ksp-cadherin. Cadherins form a superfamily of related glycoproteins that mediate calcium-dependent cell adhesion and transmit signals from the extracellular matrix to the cytoplasm. Cadherins have been implicated in embryogenesis, tissue morphogenesis, tissue structure maintenance, cell polarization, neoplastic invasiveness and metastasis, and membrane transport. It is suggested that Ksp-cadherin is a marker for terminal differentiation of the basolateral membranes of renal tubular epithelial cells. Within the kidney, Ksp-Cadherin is found exclusively in the basolateral membrane of renal tubular epithelial cells and collecting duct cells, and not in glomeruli, renal interstitial cells, or blood vessels. When in the presence of alkaline phosphatase (AP) enzyme, Vulcan Fast Red produces a bright fuchsin-red precipitate that is insoluble in organic solvents and can be coverslipped with a permanent mounting media. This product is available in a stable two-component system, consisting of Vulcan Fast Red Chromogen and Vulcan Buffer. When using an alkaline phosphatase system, tris buffer (pH 7.6) should be used as a rinsing buffer. PBS should never be used! Phosphates act as a competitive inhibitor to alkaline phosphatase enzymes.For optimum performance, use IMMUNOCARE TBS Wash Buffer with AP activator or TBS Wash Buffer 20X.

HIF1 (hypoxia-inducible factor 1), a heterodimeric transcription factor complex central to cellular response to hypoxia, consists of two subunits (HIF-1 alpha and HIF-1 beta) which are basic helix-loop-helix proteins of the PAS (Per, ARNT, Sim) family. This protein belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase family of proteins. The product of this gene is an enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of retinoic acid (RA) from retinaldehyde. Retinoic acid, the active derivative of vitamin A (retinol), is a hormonal signaling molecule that functions in developing and adult tissues. The studies of a similar mouse gene suggest that this enzyme and the cytochrome CYP26A1, concurrently establish local embryonic retinoic acid levels which facilitate posterior organ development and prevent spina bifida. Four transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
